ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 9, 2022 – ThreatLocker, an Orlando-based cybersecurity leader, is moving its headquarters to 1950 Summit Park Dr in Maitland after nearly tripling in size over the past year. The move follows a $100 million Series C funding raise in April, which allowed the company to accelerate product innovation and talent hiring, increasing their local workforce from 100 to 215 employees in a matter of months.

“This is a monumental milestone in our company’s history, full of growth, opportunity and potential,” said Danny Jenkins, CEO and Co-Founder of ThreatLocker. “We are excited to grow our market presence and shape the future of cybersecurity in Orlando.”

To accommodate its growth, ThreatLocker moves into the former home of Electronic Arts Orlando, taking over 42,000 square feet on the 3rd and 4th floors of the 128,000-sq-ft building. The space allows for the continued growth of the 24/7/365 operations.

“Orlando’s emerging technology and cybersecurity ecosystem are critical factors in the growth of ThreatLocker,” Jenkins said.

ThreatLocker was founded in 2017 by Danny and Sami Jenkins along with John Carolan in response to cybersecurity threats at their children’s school. The software they developed later became the basis for ThreatLocker’s endpoint security platform.

ThreatLocker works with IT Administrators, System Integrators, Managed Service Providers (MSPs), Value-Added Resellers, and architects of cybersecurity solutions around the world. The company has thousands of partners and protects over 30,000 organizations.

Through these partnerships, the company provides robust and low overhead cybersecurity solutions, including Allowlisting (permit or deny application access), Ringfencing™ (restrict how apps interact with data), Elevation Control and others. ThreatLocker’s preventative approach as well as their 24-hour operations with 60-second response windows result in better efficiency and better security for customers.

Part of ThreatLocker’s growth comes from its participation in more than 300 events annually, including their flagship event Zero Trust World.

“It’s been helpful to have so many conventions we participate in right here in Orlando,” said Heather Hartland CMP CMM, Director of Marketing for ThreatLocker. “We wanted to get in front of businesses of all types, and Orlando’s status as a leader in conventions has been invaluable.”

“We are thrilled that ThreatLocker is choosing to remain and expand in Orange County! This company boosts our economic diversity and will continue to add high tech jobs to this region for years to come,” said Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings. “We are proud that ThreatLocker’s Zero Trust strategy will not only help businesses in Orange County, but and across the country and globe to mitigate the risk of Cyberattacks right from our own backyard.”

“ThreatLocker’s expansion highlights how Orlando is making itself known in the cybersecurity industry, especially as the region propels college students into the workforce, develops cybersecurity centers and creates hundreds of cybersecurity-related jobs,” says Orlando Economic Partnership Chief Innovation Officer David Adelson.

Several of Orlando’s higher education institutions offer unique programs to develop future cyber defense professionals and leaders. University of Central Florida’s Center for Cybersecurity is a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education, as designated by the National Security Agency and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. In addition to UCF’s Collegiate Cyber Defense Club (Hack@UCF), the university is home to a Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition Team (UCF CCDC Team). Valencia College offers a Cybersecurity Technical Certificate, which was certified by The National Security Agency and the Committee on National Security Systems.

“We are thrilled that ThreatLocker is expanding in the Orlando region,” said Orlando Economic Partnership President and CEO Tim Giuliani. “The company’s expansion further highlights how tech companies don’t have to be in Silicon Valley to succeed. The world’s most innovative companies can find the talent and opportunities to build the next generation of technology right here in our region.”
