Today we kicked off our annual Zero Trust World event in Florida. A two and half day event, which is both in person and virtual, focuses on bringing together some of the brightest cybersecurity professionals in the IT industry. Each day our jam packed agenda focuses on educating, sharing and inspiring as many people as possible to invest effectively in their cybersecurity stack. Zero Trust World encompasses everything it means to be an IT professional in a technology driven world. Let’s see how we kicked things off on day one.

Danny Jenkins CEO and Co-Founder, took to the stage to welcome everybody to the event. As the head of ThreatLocker, Danny is always on the road and has witnessed first hand the impact the global pandemic has had on in person events. However, he was delighted to see so many new and familiar faces as they spilled into the ballroom of the Rosen Plaza, Orlando, Florida.

“We’ve been planning this event for nearly a year, and it has been well worth the wait. Seeing our delegates and sponsors come together to dive into what the Zero Trust model really means to businesses, and how IT Professionals can successfully implement the model into their cybersecurity stack, is refreshing. It’s been a really great day, and I’m really looking forward to more live hacks, deep dives, and workshops tomorrow.”

John Sileo then took to the stage to discuss the lessons he learned from losing his business and wealth to cybercrime. He spoke candidly about how he wrongly faced jail time, and how he turned everything that happened to him into his advantage. This highly educational presentation enabled every delegate to consider how they would respond if they were put in the same situation. It was clear that everybody walked away with a much deeper understanding of what it truly means to be better protected against cyber threats. Ultimately concluding that the need to invest in cybersecurity should be at the top of everybody's priority list.

Before we headed into our first break, Tim Coach, Director of Channel Engagement at Gradient MSP took to the stage to talk about how IT Professionals have the power to make the world a better place. “MSPs are an essential service, and they make the world a better place. Which means YOU make the world a better place!” It was very clear to see that Tim had a huge impact on the delegates, leaving them feeling both empowered and inspired.

After fuelling up at lunch and grabbing a coffee to go, the afternoon kicked off with Dr Chase Cunningham taking to the stage to address the current state of the threat landscape, as well as discussing all things cyber operations. Chase led the session with a thought provoking presentation, diving into the strategies and technologies needed to successfully implement Zero Trust solutions.

Throughout the afternoon, we also encouraged delegates to attend our open lab sessions.

Our dedicated lab sessions were led by our very own ThreatLocker Cyber Heroes. These sessions were full of learning, workshopping and discovering how the ThreatLocker solution can be used to enhance any cybersecurity stack. Delegates also had the opportunity to network with one another in order to work through any problems they have and share.

A key highlight of the day was watching delegates take the new Cyber Hero Certification exam. Greg Fuller, Senior System Admin, Run Networks was delighted to hear he was the first person to pass the exam outside of ThreatLocker. “The exam enables us to strengthen our knowledge around the whole ThreatLocker solution, as well as all of the features and modules. We are really looking forward to taking everything we learned back to our team!” Brandon Gordon , President, Run Networks.

It’s safe to say that day one was a blast! We would like to thank all of the sponsors for leading such thought provoking sessions that enabled every delegate to feel motivated and inspired, ready to get back to business and implement the new ideas they learned today. To all of our delegates, we’ll see you tomorrow for another great day!
